An experienced, dynamic Sous Chef is required for a prestigious B&I contract in Northampton.

We currently have an excellent opportunity for a creative and effective Sous Chef to join the team at this busy location in Northampton.

This role requires a motivated chef who has the ability to manage the kitchen to the highest standards.

Duties of the role:

  • Manage and support all core food production requirements as well as hospitality catering requests
  • Comply with all health and safety and food safety policies and procedures, including HACCP, COSHH, accident and near-miss reporting, manual handling training and risk assessment compilation
  • Deputise for the Head Chef or Manager as and when required (Day shifts)
  • Assist with stock control, portion control and wastage
  • Assist in menu development and procurement of goods to ensure understanding of processes and costs for both core and hospitality catering
  • Assist in the production of a four weekly menu cycle, ensuring a balance of nutrition, colour, texture and variety
  • Follow ‘High Street’ and contemporary trends to ensure that the food produced is varied, innovative and meets customer expectation
  • Be involved in designing, costing and developing new ideas for theme nights, barbecues, special events and commercial hospitality event-catering concepts
  • Assist in coordinating and budgeting for complex events
  • Attend and contribute to Catering Management Team meetings
  • Ensuring all Food Hygiene and Health & Safety policies and procedures are followed.
  • Ensuring dietary requirements are strictly managed and adhered to.
  • Assist with accounts and bookwork processing as and when required.
