Some lovely words from the bursar at Loretto.
“Once again the catering team have surpassed themselves and delivered a very special Burns Night to some 150 pupils. The dining room looked splendid as did the food on the plate. A very high standard of cuisine was served up which would not have looked out of place in a fine dining restaurant.I appreciate how tough it is for you all not only to do the day job of serving 1,000 meals but concurrently having to prepare for a very special evening. Burn’s Night is always one of theatre and I have no doubt our international students will have been bemused by the addressing of the haggis but nevertheless will reflect back on it for the rest of their lives and take away with them very special memories of Scotland.I thought the atmosphere on the night was lovely. The meal service ran like clockwork and every single member of the catering team be it front of house, the chefs, and the backroom crew washing piles of glassware, crockery and cutlery worked as one. You should be very proud of what was achieved. Please pass on my grateful thanks to everyone involved in last night’s splendid event. “
